Cop to Pay $185 Ticket for Paralyzing Boy 14

A Montgomery County cop struck and paralyzed a 14-year-old Clarksburg boy who was simply attempting to cross the street in front of his home.

The offending Officer, Jason Cokinos, received the punishment of a $185.00 traffic ticket, the boy is now a quadriplegic with permanent brain damage.
Officials who deemed the incident a “private matter, would not discus if the officer was disciplined, however, he is back on the road, patrolling areas that show spikes in crime.

Cokinos, who was 23 at the time of the accident, was speeding, 56 in a 30-mile-an-hour zone. The subsequent seven-month investigation found Cokinos, not guilty of negligent driving or contributing to an accident, the investigation also concluded the accident would not have occurred if Cokinos had been going the speed limit. Conkinos pleaded guilty to driving 26 miles-per-hour over the limit and received a $185.00 fine.
Meanwhile, the boy needs constant medical attention and care in getting dressed, eating or any other simple task.
