LOS ANGELES, CA. (THECOUNT) — Fiona Lowe, the 13-year-old daughter of actor Chad Lowe and producer Kim Painter and niece of actor Rob Lowe, has died, according to her family and law enforcement sources.
Fiona died Tuesday at her home, according to law enforcement sources. Authorities were called to the residence at approximately 12:10 a.m. Tuesday. No cause of death has been publicly disclosed.

Chad and Kim confirmed their daughter’s death in a statement shared with media outlets, saying they were “deeply heartbroken” by the loss of their beloved daughter while including information for the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. The family has not publicly said that Fiona’s death was related to suicide or disclosed any cause of death.
The family had recently endured the loss of their home in the Pacific Palisades wildfires fires in January 2025.
The couple remembered Fiona as a loving, smart and creative young girl who loved to dance. They said she was adored by her sisters and deeply loved by her parents, adding that Fiona “was the light of our lives.”
“Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time,” the family said.
Fiona was born November 16, 2012, and was the second of Chad and Kim’s three daughters. Her sisters are Mabel Painter Lowe, 17, and Nixie Barbara Lowe, 10.
Chad, 58, is the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe and has established a Hollywood career of his own as an actor, director and producer. He won the 1993 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Jesse McKenna on the ABC drama Life Goes On.
Lowe also became known for roles in television series including Melrose Place, ER, 24 and Pretty Little Liars. Behind the camera, he directed the 2006 film Beautiful Ohio and has worked as a producer on several projects.
Chad and Kim married in 2010. Fiona was their second daughter and the middle child of the family.
Fiona’s death comes less than a year after Chad publicly celebrated her 13th birthday. In a November 2025 post, he referred to her affectionately as “FiBear” and encouraged his daughter to keep dancing through life.
Fiona’s death also makes Rob Lowe an uncle mourning the loss of his niece. Rob and Chad are brothers who both established careers in the entertainment industry after growing up in California.
Los Angeles County, where the Lowe family has lived and worked for decades, encompasses the Pacific Palisades community and much of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The family’s Pacific Palisades home was among the properties destroyed during the January 2025 wildfires.
