TOLEDO, OH. (THECOUNT) — John “Johnny” Crapsey, 58, of Toledo, has been identified as the motorcyclist killed in a late-night crash Friday in Springfield Township, Lucas County, near the Toledo metropolitan area of Ohio.
State troopers were called to State Route 2 near Eber Road shortly after 11 p.m. following reports of a serious motorcycle crash.

Officials said Crapsey was riding his motorcycle on State Route 2 when he was struck by an eastbound car that was turning left.
Crapsey was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was not identified in the initial report, and officials had not released information concerning that driver’s condition.
Authorities said alcohol and drug impairment are not believed to have been factors in the collision.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remained under investigation. Officials had not released additional information concerning the vehicles involved, possible citations or whether any charges would be filed.
Investigators are expected to review the movements of both vehicles and other available evidence as they work to determine how the collision occurred.
State Route 2 is a major roadway serving communities in and around the Toledo area. The crash occurred during the late-night hours near Eber Road in Springfield Township.
Additional details concerning the other driver and the ongoing investigation had not been released.
