Shannon Davis Arrested After North Carolina Fatal Shooting Of Terrance Lucas

WILSON, N.C. (THECOUNT) — North Carolina man Terrance Lucas, 45, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday night fatal shooting in Wilson, where Shannon Davis, 40, has been charged with first-degree murder, according to the Wilson Police Department.

Officers were called to the area of Manchester Street and Suggs Street around 9:15 p.m. for a report of shots fired. While officers were responding, dispatchers learned that a person had been shot and was lying in the roadway.

Police arrived in the 500 block of Manchester Street and found Lucas suffering from a gunshot wound.

Lucas was transported to Wilson Medical Center, but police said he died from his injuries while being taken to the hospital.

Davis was identified as the person accused in the shooting and was charged with first-degree murder. He was transported to the Wilson County Jail, where he was being held without bond.

Police have not released a possible motive or additional details about what led to the shooting. Investigators also have not said whether Lucas and Davis knew each other or described the circumstances immediately preceding the gunfire.

The investigation remains ongoing.
