CAMDEN, AL. (THECOUNT) — Charles Michael “Bone” Andrews, a Camden Police Department officer, has died following an off-duty motorcycle crash, according to the department.
The Camden Police Department announced Andrews’ death in a Facebook post, saying the officer was killed in an off-duty motorcycle accident Tuesday night.

“Officer Andrews was more than a police officer; he was a friend, a brother, and a valued member of our department family,” the department said in a statement.
Andrews, 49, was a resident of Thomasville, Alabama, according to his obituary. He was born Jan. 23, 1977, in Mobile, Alabama.
Before joining the Camden Police Department, Andrews served as a police officer for the City of Thomasville, the Town of Grove Hill and the Clarke County Sheriff’s Department, according to his obituary.
The circumstances surrounding the motorcycle crash, including the exact location, time and what led to the wreck, had not been publicly released in the information available Wednesday.
The Camden Police Department said its thoughts and prayers are with Andrews’ family and fellow officers as they deal with his death.
The department also asked members of the community to support Andrews’ family and the Camden police family during the difficult time.
