OVERLAND PARK, KS. (THECOUNT) — Faith Monae Lockett, 24, of Raytown, Missouri, was killed Wednesday evening in a rollover crash involving two vehicles on U.S. 69 Highway in Overland Park, Kansas, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Three other occupants, including two children, were injured in the collision.
Overland Park is located in Johnson County in the Kansas City metropolitan area, along the Kansas-Missouri border. The crash occurred on U.S. 69 Highway approximately a half-mile south of 159th Street.

Kansas Highway Patrol troopers responded to the crash shortly after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Preliminary information indicates two Honda Accord sedans were traveling north on U.S. 69 Highway when the collision occurred.
According to the KHP crash log, the vehicles were a 2008 Honda Accord and a 2021 Honda Accord. Just south of 159th Street, the newer Accord came to an abrupt stop for an undetermined reason.
The driver of the 2008 Accord swerved to the left in an apparent attempt to avoid the stopped vehicle, according to the preliminary crash information. The 2008 Accord subsequently lost control and collided with the 2021 Accord before rolling over.
Lockett was an occupant of the 2008 Accord. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash report states that Lockett was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
Two children traveling in the 2008 Accord were also injured. A 3-year-old girl suffered injuries believed to be serious, while a 2-year-old boy sustained minor injuries, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The crash report states that neither child was secured by a safety restraint at the time of the collision. The driver of the 2008 Accord also sustained minor injuries.
The driver and another occupant of the 2021 Honda Accord were not injured, according to authorities.
The highway patrol has not released additional information about the identities of the other occupants or the circumstances surrounding the abrupt stop by the 2021 Accord. The preliminary crash information does not state why that vehicle stopped.
The Kansas Highway Patrol continues to investigate the collision. Officials noted that information contained in the initial crash log is preliminary and may be updated as investigators review evidence and establish the circumstances of the crash.
