OH Woman Joyce Snider ID’d As Victim In Wednesday East Liverpool Fatal Crash Involving Child

LIVERPOOL TOWNSHIP, OH. (THECOUNT) — Joyce Snider, 63, of East Liverpool, Ohio, was killed Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 11 (U.S. Route 30) in Liverpool Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The crash also seriously injured the driver of the SUV and a child passenger, while the driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 11 a.m. Wednesday on State Route 11 (U.S. Route 30).

Investigators said Snider was riding as a passenger in a sport utility vehicle that was stopped on the highway, positioned partially on the left shoulder and partially in the left travel lane, when it was struck from behind by a pickup truck.

Snider suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment. A child who was also riding in the SUV was transported by medical helicopter with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries. Authorities have not released the identities of the surviving victims.

The crash forced the closure of a portion of State Route 11 for several hours while troopers documented the scene and emergency crews cleared the roadway.

Emergency responders from Liverpool Township, St. Clair Township, East Liverpool, Glenmoor, Calcutta, and Negley assisted the Ohio State Highway Patrol at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities have not announced whether any charges are anticipated.

Liverpool Township is located in Columbiana County in eastern Ohio, along the Pennsylvania border and northwest of Pittsburgh.
