HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA. (THECOUNT) — Rylie Hillegas, 24, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, died Friday after a motorcycle crash on Baughman Hollow Road in Hempfield Township, according to the Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office. Authorities said Hillegas was the sole occupant of the motorcycle.
Hempfield Township is located in Westmoreland County in western Pennsylvania, southeast of Pittsburgh.

According to Westmoreland County Coroner John Ackerman, the crash occurred shortly before midnight Friday on Baughman Hollow Road, east of Pandora Way.
Investigators said Hillegas was operating a motorcycle eastbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle struck a guiderail, causing him to be separated from the bike.
Emergency responders transported Hillegas to an area hospital, where he later succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash, according to the coroner.
Authorities said Hillegas was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The Pennsylvania State Police and the City of Jeannette are conducting a joint investigation into the fatal crash. Officials have not announced whether any additional factors contributed to the collision, and no further information has been released as the investigation remains active.
The Westmoreland County Coroner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death as part of its investigation.
