FRANKLIN, CT. (THECOUNT) — Austin Leigh Lippincott, 29, of Uncasville, Connecticut, died Tuesday night after suffering life-threatening injuries in a motorcycle crash involving a work van earlier in the day in Franklin, according to Connecticut State Police.
Franklin is a small town in eastern Connecticut, located in New London County approximately 40 miles southeast of Hartford. The fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Route 207 and Pautipaug Hill Road.

According to Connecticut State Police, troopers and emergency medical personnel responded to the crash scene at approximately 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators said Lippincott was operating a Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Route 207 and had begun making a left turn when a Chevrolet work van traveling eastbound crossed into the westbound lane while attempting to make a right turn and struck the motorcycle.
The impact ejected Lippincott from the motorcycle and caused him to land in the roadway. Authorities said he sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash.
Emergency responders transported Lippincott to Backus Hospital in Norwich for treatment. He later succumbed to his injuries Tuesday night.
Connecticut State Police have not released the identity of the driver of the Chevrolet work van or indicated whether any charges are pending as the investigation remains ongoing.
Route 207 is a two-lane state highway that runs through several communities in eastern Connecticut and serves as a major connector between Norwich and Lebanon.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision and have not released any additional information regarding contributing factors.
