AUSTIN, TX. (THECOUNT) — Elon Musk has announced plans to create a full-length, AI-generated adaptation of Homer’s “The Odyssey” using his artificial intelligence chatbot, Grok, promising the film will be both historically accurate and faithful to the ancient Greek epic.

Online commenters noted that Odysseus appeared to be wearing modern-looking earplugs in one scene, sported an unusually bronzed complexion in another, and traveled through landscapes featuring oddly shaped trees that some compared to UFOs.
The short clip offered only a glimpse of what an AI-generated adaptation might look like and did not include several of the epic’s most famous mythological encounters, including the Cyclops Polyphemus, Scylla and Charybdis, or the Sirens.

He further suggested that if the AI project fails to materialize, he would be willing to provide $100 million in funding for a traditional Hollywood adaptation directed by filmmaker Mel Gibson.
