BRISTOL, TN. (THECOUNT) — Joshua Lee Mumpower, 43, of Bristol, Tennessee, was identified as the victim in a Thursday morning motorcycle crash on Volunteer Parkway in Bristol, Tennessee, according to the Bristol Tennessee Police Department. Authorities said the collision involved Mumpower’s motorcycle and a pickup truck crossing the roadway.
Bristol is located in northeastern Tennessee along the Virginia state line. The fatal crash occurred in the 2600 block of Volunteer Parkway, a major commercial corridor through the city.

According to the Bristol Tennessee Police Department, officers responded to the scene at approximately 6:15 a.m. Thursday following reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck.
Investigators said a pickup truck attempting to cross the roadway was struck by a motorcycle traveling northbound on Volunteer Parkway.
Mumpower, the operator of the motorcycle, sustained critical injuries in the collision and was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
Authorities said he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Bristol Tennessee Police Department has not released additional information regarding the driver of the pickup truck or whether any charges or citations are anticipated.
Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
