TRUSSVILLE, AL. (THECOUNT) — — Dominque Mariona Butler, 32, her husband Dquarious Marqua Butler, 29, and their 5-year-old daughter Nailani Butler were killed Tuesday morning in a tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 59 near Trussville. The family was from Liberty, Mississippi.
Dominque Butler and Nailani Butler were pronounced dead at the scene. Dquarious Butler was transported to UAB Hospital, where he later died. According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, all three were traveling in the same tractor-trailer along with three other immediate family members when the crash occurred.

The crash happened around 7:12 a.m. Tuesday on Interstate 59 North near mile marker 138 in Jefferson County. Authorities said one tractor-trailer collided with another tractor-trailer. All six people inside the Butler family’s tractor-trailer were members of the same immediate family.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identities of the three deceased family members. Dominque Mariona Butler, Dquarious Marqua Butler, and Nailani Butler were all pronounced dead as a result of the crash.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Troopers are investigating the cause of the collision. Troopers have not yet released information regarding contributing factors, such as speed, weather conditions, or possible impairment.
Interstate 59 is a major north-south route that runs through central Alabama and passes near the Birmingham metropolitan area. The section near Trussville is a heavily traveled corridor with frequent commercial truck traffic.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office and Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the crash. Officials have not released the names or conditions of the three surviving family members who were also in the tractor-trailer.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision. The crash remains under active investigation.
