ONONDAGA COUNTY, NY. (THECOUNT) — Karyn Lupo Stratton, of Marcellus, New York, and her husband, Bruce Stratton, a well-known New York motocross champion, were involved in a two-vehicle motorcycle crash Sunday morning in Onondaga County, located in Central New York west of Syracuse. Sadly the crash claimed Karyn’s life.
Karyn was 55.

According to investigators, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 10:10 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Slate Hill Road and U.S. Route 20 in the Town of Marcellus.
Police said a northbound vehicle stopped at the intersection before attempting to enter U.S. Route 20 but failed to yield the right-of-way to the eastbound motorcycle carrying Bruce and Karyn Stratton.
The motorcycle collided with the vehicle, ejecting both Bruce and Karyn from the bike.
Emergency responders transported both victims to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
Karyn Stratton later succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision.
Bruce Stratton, also 55, remained hospitalized with injuries described by authorities as non-life-threatening.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured, according to police.
Bruce Stratton is widely known throughout New York’s motocross community, having earned numerous championships and recognition during his racing career.
Onondaga County is located in Central New York and includes the Syracuse metropolitan area, with U.S. Route 20 serving as one of the region’s primary east-west highways.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by responding law enforcement officials.
