According to Connecticut State Police, Rivera was operating a Yamaha YZF-R7 when the motorcycle crashed into a guardrail near Exit 23 shortly before 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 7.

Authorities said Rivera, who was from Waterbury, veered onto the right shoulder before the motorcycle struck the guardrail at the South Main Street overpass.
