According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the fatal collision occurred shortly before 10 p.m. at the intersection of Tyrone Boulevard and 21st Avenue North.

Investigators said a Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Tyrone Boulevard and failed to yield to an oncoming gray Suzuki motorcycle being operated by Strunk.

The resulting collision caused critical injuries to Strunk, who was transported from the scene to a local hospital for treatment.

Despite emergency medical efforts, Strunk later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Authorities said the driver of the Ford F-150 remained at the scene following the crash and fully cooperated with investigators.

The intersection of Tyrone Boulevard and 21st Avenue North is located in western St. Petersburg, near several commercial developments and residential neighborhoods. Tyrone Boulevard serves as a major east-west roadway through the city and carries significant daily traffic volumes.

Investigators have not released the identity of the Ford driver, and no charges have been announced. Authorities have also not indicated whether speed, impairment, distraction, or any other contributing factors played a role in the collision.

The St. Petersburg Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
