NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (THECOUNT) — Tyler Davis, 33, of Summerville, South Carolina, was identified as the motorcyclist killed Wednesday in a collision at the intersection of Rivers Avenue and Dalton Street in North Charleston, according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
Officials said Davis was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities responded Wednesday to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and another vehicle at the busy North Charleston intersection.
North Charleston Police said a preliminary investigation determined the driver of the involved vehicle was making a lawful right turn when the vehicle was struck by the motorcycle operated by Davis.
Investigators indicated no criminal charges are anticipated against the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision.
Emergency personnel remained at the scene while officers documented evidence and redirected traffic through the area.
North Charleston is located in the Charleston metropolitan area along South Carolina’s coastal region and is one of the state’s busiest transportation corridors.
The Charleston County Coroner’s Office formally released Davis’ identity following notification of family members.
The crash remains under active investigation by the North Charleston Police Department.
