NATCHITOCHES PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Felisha Roe, 40, of Palestine, Texas, was killed early Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash along Interstate 49 near Ajax in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, according to Louisiana State Police.
The fatal crash occurred around 2:58 a.m. Thursday near milepost 156 north of Ajax in central Louisiana.

Authorities said emergency crews were dispatched after reports of a vehicle discovered down an embankment near a bridge along Interstate 49.
Investigators with the Louisiana State Police said Roe was the sole occupant of the vehicle involved in the crash.
According to officials, the vehicle left the roadway for reasons that remain under investigation before coming to rest down the embankment.
The Natchitoches Parish Coroner pronounced Roe dead at the scene.
Louisiana State Police later confirmed Roe was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
No other vehicles were reported to have been involved in the incident.
Emergency personnel from multiple agencies responded to the crash scene during the overnight hours.
Responding agencies included the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police, Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District No. 7, and Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS.
The crash caused activity along the Interstate 49 corridor north of Ajax as investigators documented evidence and emergency crews worked in the area.
Authorities have not yet released additional details regarding roadway conditions, speed, impairment, or other possible contributing factors.
Interstate 49 serves as a major north-south transportation route through western and central Louisiana, connecting communities including Shreveport, Natchitoches, Alexandria, and Lafayette.
The rural stretch of interstate near Ajax includes wooded areas, bridges, and embankments that can present hazards during overnight travel conditions.
Officials have not indicated how long the vehicle may have remained off the roadway before it was discovered.
