NOLAN COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Dora Gail Schenkenberg, of Sweetwater, Texas, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Nolan County, according to authorities. Schenkenberg was 72.
The collision occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at the intersection of County Road 220 and FM 1856 in Nolan County, located in West Texas east of Abilene.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Schenkenberg was operating a 2026 Ford Maverick pickup truck traveling eastbound on County Road 220 when the fatal crash occurred.
Investigators said Schenkenberg approached the intersection with FM 1856, which is controlled by a stop sign.
Authorities reported Schenkenberg failed to stop at the intersection and continued through the crossing.
The pickup truck subsequently struck an embankment and overturned.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene following reports of the rollover crash.
Schenkenberg sustained serious injuries in the collision.
Officials confirmed she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
She was transported to Rolling Plains Hospital in Sweetwater for emergency medical treatment.
Despite lifesaving efforts by medical personnel, Schenkenberg succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities said she was pronounced dead at the hospital at approximately 11:26 p.m.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision, according to investigators.
No additional injuries were reported.
The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the fatal rollover crash.
