FRESNO, CA. (THECOUNT) — Dominiq Puentes, of Fresno, California, has been identified as the victim in a fatal crash involving a truck and a moped scooter Friday night in Fresno, according to the Fresno Police Department. Puentes was 13 years old.
The collision occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Bullard Avenue and North Palm Avenue in Fresno County. Officers responded to the scene following multiple 911 calls reporting a crash involving a vehicle and a scooter.

Authorities said Puentes was operating a moped scooter at the time of the incident. A 12-year-old passenger was also riding on the scooter. Investigators reported the moped was struck by a white truck at the intersection.
The impact resulted in serious injuries to both juveniles. Puentes was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash, officials said.
The 12-year-old passenger was also transported to a hospital and remains in critical condition. Authorities have not released the identity of the juvenile due to age.
The driver of the white truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, according to police. No additional information regarding the driver has been released.
The Fresno Police Department has not announced any charges at this time. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, including factors that may have contributed to the collision.
