AZ Man Justin Jacobs ID’d As Motorcyclist Killed In Saturday Phoenix Crash

PHOENIX, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Justin Mycall Jacobs has been identified as the motorcyclist who died following a single-vehicle crash in south Phoenix on Saturday afternoon. Jacobs was 36. Authorities confirmed he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, first responders were dispatched just after 5 p.m. to the area near 7th Avenue and Elwood Street following reports of a crash involving a motorcycle. The location is situated in south Phoenix, an area that includes a mix of residential streets and industrial corridors.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located Jacobs suffering from critical injuries. Despite emergency response efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Preliminary information provided by investigators indicates the crash involved only the motorcycle. Detectives believe Jacobs was operating the bike when he lost control and struck a curb. No other vehicles were reported to be involved in the collision.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the events leading up to the crash, including the direction of travel, estimated speed, or any potential contributing factors. Officials have not indicated whether impairment, mechanical issues, or roadway conditions may have played a role. Those determinations are expected to be addressed as the investigation continues.

The Phoenix Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is handling the investigation. Standard procedure in fatal motorcycle crashes includes documentation of the scene, examination of the motorcycle, review of physical evidence, and interviews with any potential witnesses.

The intersection of 7th Avenue and Elwood Street lies within a heavily traveled section of south Phoenix. The area includes nearby commercial properties and provides access to major roadways serving the city’s southern districts. Traffic activity in the vicinity can vary depending on the time of day, particularly during late afternoon hours.

Authorities have not stated whether any road closures were implemented as part of the investigation. No additional injuries were reported in connection with the crash.

Officials emphasized that the case remains active and ongoing. Further information may be released as investigators complete their review of the circumstances surrounding the collision.
