NC Man Tacoma Reda ID’d As Victim In Wednesday Wilmington Double-Fatal Motorcycle Vehicle Crash

WILMINGTON, NC (THECOUNT)Tacoma Reda, 22, and Ofelia Landa, 62, have been identified as the two people killed Wednesday afternoon in a high-speed motorcycle crash involving a passenger vehicle on in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Reda was the motorcycle driver and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities confirmed. Landa, a passenger in the other vehicle involved, was taken to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.

The crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. in the 5900 block of Oleander Drive, a major roadway in Wilmington. Wilmington Police Department officials reported that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision. Witnesses estimated that it may have been moving between 90 and 100 miles per hour before the crash.

Investigators with the Wilmington Police Department are actively examining the scene, reviewing witness statements, and collecting evidence to determine the cause of the collision. Officials have not released additional details regarding the sequence of events, and the investigation is ongoing.
