Nancy Guthrie Shock Update: Police Return to Home of Daughter Annie After Vehicle Towed

PHOENIX, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Investigators returned late Saturday night to the home of Annie Guthrie, sister of “TODAY” anchor Savannah Guthrie, as the search continues for their mother, Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing since January 31.

According to reporting, Nancy’s home is located near her daughter Annie’s residence in the Tucson area, with sources noting the two homes are approximately a 10‑minute drive apart.

Authorities spent several hours inside Annie Guthrie’s residence, photographing multiple rooms until about 10:30 PM local time. Reporters were kept at a distance as law enforcement worked, and one officer was seen carrying a silver briefcase into the home.

Outside the residence, a NewsNation correspondent, Brian Entin, documented camera flashes inside multiple rooms while several law enforcement vehicles remained nearby.

The renewed search comes as Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance enters its second week. Annie Guthrie and her husband, Tommaso Cioni, were reportedly the last people to see Nancy after having dinner together on January 31. The home had also been searched earlier this week.

Authorities have not disclosed why they returned to the property late Saturday. On Friday, a vehicle was towed from Nancy Guthrie’s garage, and a camera was removed from her home.

Earlier this week, TMZ and other outlets reported the family received an alleged ransom note with two deadlines. The first deadline was Thursday at 5 PM, which was later altered. The second deadline is set for Monday, February 9.

On Saturday, Savannah appeared in a video alongside Annie and their brother Cameron Guthrie posted to social media. The siblings said they had “received your message” and agreed to comply with the ransom demands. Savannah did not provide details regarding the communication or the requested amount. The family previously requested proof of life.
