Beloved KY Librarian Karen Hargrove ID’d As Victim In Wednesday Fairview Fatal Crash

FAIRVIEW, KY. (THECOUNT) — The Todd County Public School District is mourning the loss of Karen Hargrove, the librarian at North Todd Elementary School, who tragically lost her life in a car accident on Wednesday afternoon near Fairview, Kentucky. She was 58.

Superintendent Mark Thomas confirmed the heartbreaking news, describing Hargrove as a cherished member of the school community.

“We are heartbroken for the loss of one of our own,” Thomas shared with Your WEKT News Edge. “She was a wonderful human being and a fabulous educator.” He further emphasized her deep affection for the North Todd Elementary community and the positive impact she had on countless students and colleagues.

Support for Students and Staff

To help the school community navigate this difficult time, the district’s Crisis Team will be on-site at North Todd Elementary School beginning Thursday morning. Counselors and support staff will be available to provide assistance and resources to students and faculty as they process this devastating loss.
