LOS ANGELES, CA. (THECOUNT) — Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing fresh accusations of sexual battery and violent behavior in a lawsuit filed by Bryana “Bana” Bongolan, a former aspiring fashion designer. Bongolan alleges that in September 2016, Combs threatened her life by dangling her over a 17-story balcony while others, including his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura, were present.
The lawsuit, filed late last week, accuses Combs of engaging in “outrageous and abhorrent conduct” that violated Bongolan’s “fundamental dignity, bodily autonomy, and sense of safety.” Bongolan claims the alleged balcony incident marked the culmination of a series of threats, intimidation, and violence during her interactions with Combs.
Details of the Allegations
According to the lawsuit, the alleged incident occurred on September 26, 2016, when Combs arrived at Ventura’s apartment and began “shouting and banging on the door.” Bongolan, fearing for her safety, reportedly instructed her then-girlfriend to hide. Once inside, Combs allegedly advanced on Bongolan, groped her, and lifted her onto the balcony’s railing. The suit claims that Combs held her over the edge, leaving her life dependent on his grip, before eventually pulling her back and allegedly slamming her onto patio furniture.
Bongolan’s suit states that she never understood the source of Combs’ anger and remains unaware of what provoked the incident. Ventura reportedly intervened during the ordeal, ensuring Bongolan’s return to safety.
Legal Context and Previous Allegations
This lawsuit follows Ventura’s explosive November 2023 lawsuit against Combs, which was settled within 24 hours. Ventura’s claims included a reference to a similar balcony incident involving a friend, who CNN has since identified as Bongolan. Combs now faces over 30 civil complaints alongside a federal investigation into his alleged behavior.
Combs’ legal team has denied all allegations. In a statement, they asserted: “He has unwavering faith in the facts and in the fairness of the judicial process. In court, the truth will come to light, demonstrating that the claims against Mr. Combs are without merit.”
A History of Abuse Allegations
Bongolan’s lawsuit also highlights what she describes as a “disturbing pattern of abusive behavior” by Combs, including prior incidents of uninvited visits to Ventura’s apartment and violent outbursts. She alleges witnessing Combs throw a large kitchen knife at Ventura during one such visit.
In May, surveillance footage surfaced showing Combs physically assaulting Ventura in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016. Days later, Combs issued a public apology on social media, acknowledging his actions and expressing remorse. “I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now,” he said. “I sought professional help… I’m committed to being a better man each and every day.”
Seeking Accountability
Bongolan is suing Combs for damages, joining a growing list of individuals pursuing legal action against the embattled music producer. Her claims add to a broader narrative of alleged abuse and misconduct that continues to cast a shadow over Combs’ career.
