WOODBRIDGE, VA. (THECOUNT) — Melanie Ruby Morales, 23, was killed in a tragic motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon on Old Bridge Road in Woodbridge, Virginia.
According to Prince William County Police, Morales was traveling west on Old Bridge near Occoquan Road at high speed when she lost control of her motorcycle around 3:30 p.m. She was thrown from the bike and slid under a 2009 roll-off Dumpster truck, driven by a 56-year-old man from Triangle.
Morales, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck driver remained at the scene and was not injured. Police have determined that speed was a factor in the crash and are asking for any witnesses to come forward.
