The welcome news comes just days after news reports claimed the actor was left blind and paralyzed after suffering an undisclosed illness back in April.

According to TMZ, Foxx’s road to recovery seems to be going very well, ’cause the guy’s out and about in public now … with TMZ getting the first glimpse of him since his hospitalization.

In April, A Foxx source said:

“Jamie is stable and not in a life-threatening situation now. Doctors are doing more tests and want to be completely sure that he will be okay before allowing him to leave the hospital. Jamie Foxx is also being advised to keep his stress levels down once he is discharged. The Hospital is the last place Jamie wants to be. He has a lot of project going on. He’s getting things done; he is focused and astute. What happened to him medically is serious enough to keep him in the hospital. Everyone is thinking about him. His family and friends are supporting him and are there for him. There has been no word on when he is leaving the hospital.”
