HARRISON COUNTY, IA. (THECOUNT) — Steven Starkey and Julie Starkey, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, have been identified as the victims in a Sunday triple-fatal crash in Harrison County. Ronald Meeker, of Woodbine, has been identified as the involved truck driver.

Steve and Julie, both 53, were killed in a multi-vehicle crash involving three motorcycles and a truck on Sunday in Missouri Valley. Joseph Baker and Adam Opal and Samantha Opal, have been identified as the other involved riders.

According to reports, Meeker, 73, was operating a truck on IA-127 near Loess Hills Trail in Missouri Valley, when he lost control and rolled the vehicle around 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The truck then traveled into the path of three motorcycles.

Steve and Julie, who were thrown from the bike during the incident, were both pronounced dead.

Meeker was also killed in the wreck.

Baker, who was operating the second involved motorcycle, jumped from his bike before being hit. The third involved motorcycle, operated by Adam and Samantha, both 38 and from McClelland, were able to avoid the truck and were thrown from the bike.

Baker, Adam and Samantha were transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
