CLERMONT COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Chad Doerman, of New Richmond, Ohio, has been identified as the suspect being questioned following the horrific shooting of three young brothers in Clermont County Thursday night.

The three boys – all under the age of 8 – were fatally shot at a New Richmond residence Thursday night. Their mother was also shot in the hand and is expected to survive.

According to reports, police responded to 1965 Laurel Lindale Road in New Richmond, after an underage female was spotted running down the street screaming that her father was “shooting everyone,” around 4:15 p.m. Thursday. Around the same time, a unknown woman called 911 saying that “her babies had been shot.”

When police arrived, Doerman, 32, was found on the steps of the home. He was detained without further incident. He is currently at the sheriff’s office being interviewed.

The boys, all brothers, are ages 3, 4 and 7, were pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

The deputies found the three boys unresponsive in the yard with gunshot wounds. They tried life-saving measures until Monroe Fire/EMS arrived, but the boys died at the scene. reports Fox19.

The boys’ mother, a 34-year-old woman, was located outside the home when deputies arrived on scene. She was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where Clermont County Sheriff Robert Leahy informed her that her boys had passed away.

The sheriff’s office has not confirmed Doerman was the shooter or if he is related to the victims, however, THECOUNT.com has learned he lives at that address.

Investigators found no signs of forced entry, and the sheriff’s office is not searching for any other suspects. There does not appear to be a threat to the community, the sheriff’s office says.

The investigation is ongoing.
