LAWRENCE COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Theresa Manetzke, of Aurora, Missouri, has been identified as the suspected DUI driver in a Saturday vehicle crash that killed four motorcyclists in Lawrence County.
Manetzke, 51, was charged with “DWI Resulting in the Death of Two or More People,” following a Saturday morning crash that killed four motorcyclists in Aurora Township. Killed in the wreck were 17-year-old Kadence Harris, 28-year-old Kameron Hale, 59-year-old James Olmsted, and 61-year-old Linda Anderson, all from Aurora.
According to reports, Manetzke was operating a vehicle on MO-39 near Lawrence 2175 in Aurora, when the vehicle crossed centerlines and came into contact with a group of 10 motorcyclists.
The remaining injured motorcyclists were transported to area hospitals in serious condition.
Authorities said Manetzke failed a field sobriety test and was determined to be drug impaired.
A probable cause statement from the Missouri State Highway Patrol said Manetzke told officers on the scene she had taken several antipsychotic medications around 9 a.m. that morning.
According to the statement, Manetzke was placed under arrest and transported to jail in Springfield.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
