PLYMOUTH COUNTY, MA. (THECOUNT) — Erpharo Gilbert, of Raynham, Massachusetts, has been identified as the victim in a Monday night hit-and-run vehicle crash in Plymouth County.

Gilbert, 46, was killed in a multi-vehicle hit-and-run crash in West Bridgewater Tuesday night.

According to reports, a Toyota Scion TC was traveling on MA-24 in West Bridgewater, when the vehicle came into contact with a Honda Accord operated by Gilbert. The Honda then exited the roadway and came into contact with a concrete barrier around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. A Ford Pickup truck then came into contact with the Honda causing it to burst into flames.

The 23-year-old Brockton man operating the pickup truck was uninjured in the collision.

Gilbert was pronounced dead of blunt force and thermal injuries at the scene.

The Toyota driver fled the scene and positive identification is being sought by police.

The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
