KENT COUNTY, DE. (THECOUNT) — Joshua Riley, of Houston, Delaware, has been identified as the victim in a Monday fatal shooting in Kent County.

Josh Riley, 35, was fatally shot in Felton early Monday morning. The shooting has been ruled a homicide.

According to reports, Riley was operating a vehicle in Felton, when the vehicle became disabled in the area of Hopkins Cemetery Road and Marshyhope Road. Riley then exited the vehicle and walked to a nearby residence to make a call for help. At some point, he returned to his vehicle where a confrontation occurred between him and and unknown party around 12:30 a.m. Monday. Shots were then fired.

Arriving officials found Riley suffering from gunshot wounds.

Riley was transported to an area hospital where he was found dead of gunshot injuries.

No suspect information was provided.
