RIYADH, Saudi Arabia. (THECOUNT) — Rapper Drake lost $400,000 Sunday after betting on Jake Paul to win his boxing match against Tommy Fury by KO. There was no knock out by either boxer and Paul lost the fight by split decision.
According to TMZ, Drake posted the Stake betting slip on social media Saturday night … and he’s risking $400,000. In order for the superstar rapper to cash out, Jake can’t just win the fight, he must KO Tommy (in any round). If that scenario actually unfolds, Drake would receive $1.4 million … which included his initial bet ($400k).
Paul took the first defeat of his professional boxing career Sunday night, losing a split decision to Tommy Fury.
Paul (6-1) knocked down Fury with a short left hand early in the final round of their cruiserweight bout, but the younger half-brother of heavyweight champion Tyson Fury controlled long stretches of the eight-round meeting at Diriyah Arena.
Two judges scored the bout 76-73 for Fury (9-0, 4 KOs), while the third favored Paul, 75-74.
