BOONE COUNTY, WV. (THECOUNT) — Linzy Craft Spears, of Charleston, West Virginia, has been identified as the victim in a Friday two-vehicle fatal crash in Boone County.
Spears, 34, was killed in a wrong-way crash near Madison Friday night. Driver impairment is suspected in the collision.
According to reports, Kenneth Spears, 38 of Charleston, was operating a vehicle with Linzy as his passenger on WV-85 near Madison, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and came into head-on contact with a vehicle operated by 42-year-old Colin Holstein, of Alum Creek, West Virginia around 9:30 p.m. Friday.
Linzy was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
Both drivers were transported at an area hospital in unknown condition.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
