CHESTER COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Cassidy McCorkle, of Chester, South Carolina, has been identified as the pedestrian in a Friday fatal vehicle strike in Chester County.

McCorkle, 20, was killed in a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision in Chester early Friday morning.

According to reports, McCorkle was on-foot in the area of the J A Cochran Bypass near SC-72 in Chester, when she was struck by a passing vehicle while crossing the roadway around 1:40 a.m. Friday.

McCorkle was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.

The driver of the involved vehicle was uninjured in the collision.

No one was cited at the scene.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
