Honolulu HS Student Sara Yara ID’d As Pedestrian In Wednesday Fatal Hit-And-Run Vehicle Strike

HONOLULU COUNTY, HI. (THECOUNT) — Sara Yara has been identified as the President William McKinley High School student killed in a Wednesday morning hit-and-run vehicle strike in Honolulu County, Hawaii.

Yara, 17, was killed in a hit-and-run vehicle collision that injured another student in Honolulu Wednesday morning.

According to reports, Yara was on-foot with another classmate in the area of Kapiolani Blvd and Kamakee Street in Honolulu, when they were struck by a vehicle than then fled the scene around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Yara was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries suffered in the collision.

The involved classmate was transported to an area hospital and is currently listed in good condition.

A Tacoma pickup truck with the license plate TTR757 was later located by police. The driver is still unknown as of Wednesday night.
