DURHAM COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Shakida Rivers, of Durham, North Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a Friday fatal shooting at a Durham County park.

Rivers, 41, was found fatally shot at Duke Park in Durham early Friday morning.


According to reports, Rivers was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds at Duke Park in the 100 block of West Knox Street in Durham around 2 a.m. Friday.

Rivers was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

A motive in the deadly incident was not provided by officials.
