POLK COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Michael Huggins, of Haines City, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday night fatal vehicle crash in Polk County.
Huggins, 28, was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer Sunday night near Lake Hamilton.
According to reports, Huggins was operating an Audi A6 on US-27 in Dundee around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, when the vehicle came into contact with a big-rig operated by 36-year-old Roel Avila Almaguer, of Frostproof.
Huggins was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
Almaguer was not injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
