LOS ANGELES COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Alon Foster, of Lancaster, California, has been identified as the knife-wielding man shot dead by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies on Sunday in Los Angeles County.
Foster, 44, is suspected of fatally stabbing 49-year-old Sheila Ashley near a Santa Clarita intersection before he was fatally shot by deputies Sunday morning around 7:40 a.m.

According to reports, police were investigating the fatal stabbing of a woman hours earlier near Bouquet Canyon Road and Spunky Canyon Road in Santa Clarita, when Foster was spotted walking nearby.
At some point, Foster brandished a knife and advanced toward officers. Officers then opened fire fatally striking Foster.
Ashley was pronounced dead of stab wound injuries at the scene.
Foster was pronounced dead of gunshot injuries at the scene.
Investigators were working to determine if there was a connection between Foster and Ashley.
