CASS COUNTY, MI. (THECOUNT) — Trevor Kyle Nelson, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck Saturday night in Cass County.

Nelson, 18, was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Cassopolis Saturday night.

According to reports, Trevor David Nelson, 57, was operating a vehicle on Dailey Road near Pokagon Highway in Cassopolis, when his son, Trevor Kyle Nelson, exited the vehicle to secure an appliance strapped to the roof. While outside the vehicle, another vehicle, operated by a 49-year-old Cassopolis man, collided with Trevor Kyle Nelson and the vehicle around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Trevor Kyle Nelson was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.

The other involved driver was not identified.

Public records show the last name of the victim also as “Trevor Kyle Nilson.”

No further details of the crash were made available by officials.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
