ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Kelly Ann Eckhoff, of Park Hills, Missouri, has been identified as the body found Thursday morning in a State Park in St. Francois County.

The body of Eckhoff, 33, was located by officials conducting K-9 training exercises at St. Joe State Park on Thursday morning.

According to Cpl. Logan Barton with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Eckhoff’s body was located in the park at about 11 a.m. Thursday.

Missouri Department of Corrections personnel were in the park conducting exercises when they made the grim discovery.

Barton speculated Eckhoff’s body could have been in the park for a few days before being discovered.

An autopsy performed Friday morning did not determine a cause of death. Investigators would have to wait for toxicology results, which could take up to 6-8 weeks.
