MERCER COUNTY, NJ. (THECOUNT) — Post University basketball player, Phil Urban, 20, has been identified as the victim found fatally shot in a vehicle at a New Jersey nature preserve on Saturday.
Urban, a 6’6″ freshman forward, was found suffering from gunshot wounds while at a nature preserve in Hopewell Township on Saturday.
According to reports, police responded to the Hopewell Valley Nature Preserve on reports of an unresponsive man in a vehicle parked on a trail around 7 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, Urban was found slumped over in the driver seat of a Mercedes.
Urban was to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
Authorities say, Urban appeared to have been attempting to meet someone at the preserve when he was shot at some point during the encounter.
No suspect or motive information was provided by officials.
