NEW HAVEN COUNTY, CT. (THECOUNT) — Cassandra Leigh Carlson, of North Haven, Connecticut, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday night fatal vehicle crash in New Haven County.
Carlson, 23, was killed in a two-vehicle ejection crash in North Haven Sunday night.
According to reports, Carlson was operating a vehicle on Interstate 91 near Exit 9 in North Haven, when for unknown reasons, possible speed related, the vehicle came into contact with another vehicle around 9 p.m. Sunday. Both vehicles rotated before coming into contact with a metal guardrail. Carlson’s vehicle then rolled over.
Carlson, who was ejected from the vehicle during the wreck, was then struck by another vehicle as she lay in the roadway.
Carlson was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The driver of the other car received minor injuries.
