Reg Sex Offender Ken Bumbalough ID’d As DUI Driver In Friday Nashville Fatal Pedestrian Strike

DAVIDSON COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — Kenneth Ray Bumbalough, of Old Hickory, Tennessee, has been identified as the driver in a Friday night fatal pedestrian strike in Davidson County.

Bumbalough, 60, was reportedly impaired when he struck and killed an unidentified male pedestrian late Friday night in Nashville.

According to reports, Bumbalough was operating a Kia Soul on the 1100 block of Robinson Road in the Old Hickory neighborhood of Nashville, when the vehicle came into contact with an individual who was on-foot around 11:45 p.m. Friday.

Bumbalough showed signs of impairment and admitted to drinking “half a pint of gin” prior to the crash, according to investigators.

Bumbalough claimed that he did not have time to avoid the collision.

Bumbalough was charged with DUI and no proof of insurance.

Public records show that Bumbalough is a registered sex offender. His offences note: “VIOLENT AGAINST CHILDREN” and “AGGRAVATED SEXUAL BATTERY,” in 2002.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
