LUBBOCK COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — April Melendez, of Lubbock, Texas, has been identified as the victim in a Tuesday morning fatal vehicle crash in Lubbock County.
Melendez, 31, was killed in a two-vehicle crash in North Lubbock early Tuesday morning.
According to reports, Melendez was operating a vehicle on the 1500 block of East Municipal Drive near North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Lubbock, when the vehicle came into contact with a pickup truck operated by 34-year-old Juan Lucio around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Melendez was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The truck had a total of four people inside, none of whom were injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
