HOWARD COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Travis Jay Savini Sr., of Logansport, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday night fatal vehicle crash in Howard County near the Cass County line.

Savini, 48, was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a child Thursday night in Kokomo. Brandon Neely has been identified as the other involved driver.

According to reports, Neely, 37, was operating a Chevrolet Silverado on US-35 near Davis Road in Kokomo, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 6 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a Dodge Durango operated by Savini.

Savini was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

Two passengers in the Durango, 39-year-old Christiana De La Cruz, of Logansport and a 9-year-old female, were transported to an area hospital with unknown non-life-threatening injuries.

A teenage passenger in Neely’s vehicle was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Neely’s condition was not provided by officials.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
