LOWNDES COUNTY, MS. (THECOUNT) — Daniel Brownlee, of New Hope, Mississippi, has been identified as the victim in a Monday fatal vehicle crash in Lowndes County.
Dan Brownlee, 61, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Columbia Monday afternoon.
According to reports, Brownlee was operating a vehicle on Casey Lane near Lake Lowndes Road in Columbus, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway and came into contact with a grouping of trees. The vehicle then burst into flames.
Brownlee was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of injuries suffered in the wreck.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
