KANAWHA COUNTY, WV. (THECOUNT) — Hira Syeda and Nighat Syeda, of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, have been identified as the victims in a Thursday triple-fatal vehicle crash in Kanawha County, West Virginia.
Hira, 33, and 71-year-old Nighat, were both killed in a single-vehicle crash that also killed a child early Thursday. Two other children were critically injured.
According to reports, the family were traveling in an SUV from Pennsylvania to Kentucky, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the US-119 near Elkview, West Virginia Thursday morning. The vehicle then entered a culvert before coming to a rest on a hillside.
Hira and Nighat, as well as a child, died of injuries suffered in the crash. Two other children were transported to an area hospital in serious condition.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
