MARION COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Charlotte Cole, of Moundridge, Kansas, and Jessica Schmidt of Fruitland, Idaho, have been identified as the victims in a triple-fatal crash in Marion County, Kansas on Friday.
Cole, 53, and 19-year-old Schmidt, were both killed in a Friday afternoon crash that also took the life of 85-year-old Wanda Richmond of Marion, Kansas.
According to reports, Cole was operating a vehicle with Schmidt as her passenger traveling on on KS-256 in Marion, when the vehicle came into contract with a Ford Taurus around 1:30 p.m. Friday.
Cole and Schmidt were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Richmond, a passenger in the Taurus, was also killed in the wreck.
Another passenger in the Taurus was hospitalized with serious unknown injuries.
The driver of the Taurus sustained minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
