WINDSOR COUNTY, VT. (THECOUNT) — Timothy Baustert and Dawn Baustert, both of Essex Junction, Vermont, have been identified as the victim in a Thursday afternoon vehicle crash that killed a juvenile in Windsor County.

Dawn, 45, suffered incapacitating injuries, and 55-year-old Tim suffered minor injuries, in a vehicle crash that killed a juvenile passenger and critically injured a second minor passenger in Sharon Thursday afternoon.

According to reports, Dawn was operating a Chevrolet Suburban on Interstate 89 in Sharon, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway and came into contact with rock ledges in the median on Interstate 89 in Sharon around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

A young person traveling in the rear seat of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second juvenile passenger, also riding in the backseat, received incapacitating injuries.

The surviving family members were transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
