MARSHALL COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — David Lynn Plunkett, of Arab, Alabama, has been identified as one of two victims in a double-fatal vehicle crash in Marshall County. Arturo Clemente Jr., of Las Vegas, Nevada, has been identified as the fatality.
Plunkett, 44, and 29-year-old Clemente, were both killed in a two-vehicle crash near Guntersville late Tuesday night.
According to reports, Plunkett was operating a Chevrolet Traverse near the 4400 block of AL-69, when the vehicle came into contact with a Nissan Versa operated by Clemente around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Both men were pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
According to Facebook, Plunkett was a Corrections officer and a former Patrolman at Blountsville Police Department.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
